Esopus Nymphing Success
Well…. For a short afternoon trip the bite was HOT! the buggers tricked some larger trout (both the black crack and flashy olive) …. Orange crush was the winning nymph. ESPECIALLY on the swing they really seemed to like the orange crush. Size 14. Grab some for yourself they have been on fire as of late!
DSP’S = Trout Crack!
Well, another satisfying picture sent in from Ben! He has been putting DSP’S to work! And …. They are definitely working! Nice fish!
Ausable UPDATE 5/4/22
Water still a tad high, 46 degrees or so. Despite the conditions I saw a good amount of stoneflies hatch! Even saw a good brown shoot out of the faster water rising to something. If you guys can get water levels under 300CFS and water closer or above 50, I would strongly suggest trying some yellow/orange STIMMYS or some terrestrial type flies (tan fat Albert my favorite). Stonefly nymphs are also working very very well right now. Any size 6-10 rubber mega stone type fly will work well in the main runs!
Flashy Olive Buggers Taking Over
Well, stuck this beautiful brown up on the Ausable river on my Flashy Olive Bugger. Hookup ratio was down but that same bugger got bumped 6-8 times that day along the faster water! If you guys want an easy way to find a few trout, grab some of those buggers and just let them swing out across the current!
Winter Winner Still Winning In Summer!
Well, love hearing this. Another happy customer that continues to use the Winter Winner pattern and put a TON of trout in the net! These smaller patterns trick even the most wise older wild trout!
